Question
Why can't I access library databases and articles online?
Answer
Answer
Access issues can be related to
- the browser you're using
- using USU guest network instead of Eduroam
- caches and cookies
- browser extensions or plug-ins
- your current USU affiliation status (student, alumni, concurrent enrollment, etc.)
Browser, Caches & Cookies
- If on campus, connect using Eduroam wifi, not USU guest network. (See our Eduroam FAQ)
- Clear your cache and cookies (See our Troubleshooting Guide for instructions.)
- Try a different web browser.
- Disable browser extensions or plug-ins
- See our Online Library Access page for more information.
- If these don't resolve the issue, send an email to usueres@aggies.usu.edu (please include your A# and a description of the problem.)
USU Affiliation Status
Current students, staff, faculty, and faculty with emeritus status can access online library resources, including databases. USU alumni and the public cannot access databases from outside the library, due to licensing restrictions. However, public access is available if you come to the library building.
- Students: If you are not a current student but are registered for a future semester and need online access to the library before your class starts, contact the Registrar's Office (435) 797-1116.
- USU staff or faculty: contact your direct supervisor to update your A# Banner access to include library privileges.
- Concurrent enrollment students: (taking a USU course while in high school) see our concurrent enrollment FAQ for additional help troubleshooting access issues.
