How do I get access to a journal online? I know the journal's title.

Answer

To get online access to a journal:

  1. Go to the USU Library homepage
  2. Go to Find > Journals, Magazines, & Newspapers
  3. In the Search by Title or ISSN box type the full journal title. Note:  Don't abbreviate and don't skip things like "Journal of.."
  4. Click Search.
  5. Scan the list of results to find a database that contains the dates you are looking for.  For example, one marked "From 1997 to present" would not have access to an article from 1989.
  6. Click on the database name to get to the journal.
  7. If you are off campus, you may be prompted to log in with your A-number and Banner password at this point.
  8. Once you are on the journal's website, you can usually browse through its issues by year or use their search feature to search for a title, author, or topic.
