How do I reserve a room at the Merrill-Cazier Library?

There are over 40 different spaces available throughout the library, including study rooms on each floor, a VR Room, the foyer table, recording studios, and more! Reserving a Study Room

Student study rooms can be reserved for 2-hour blocks up to 2 days in advance. Only current USU students may use the library's online booking system to reserve study rooms in the Merrill-Cazier Library. For help making a study room reservation, you can follow the instructions below or view the USU Libraries' tutorial on YouTube for Study Room Help.

  1. Go to Study Rooms found under Services on the USU Libraries home page
  2. Log in using your A-number and strong password. 
  3. Use the Category drop down menu to select a floor, or select Show All.
  4. Choose the room you want and click on a green block to choose a reservation start time.
  5. Scroll down below the green and red blocks to select a reservation end time from the drop down. You may reserve up to 2 hours per day.
  6. Click Select Times and Continue to select the times.
  7. Verify the booking details and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue
  8. Type in a name for your group or reservation to make it easier in case you need to look it up after you finish the booking.
  9. Click the Submit my Booking at the bottom of the screen to complete your reservation. 
  10. You will receive a confirmation email at the email address you entered.

To Cancel a Reservation

If you need to cancel your booking, click the cancellation link sent in your confirmation email.

Reserving the VR Room

The VR Lab is located in Library 113 and can be reserved online during normal library hours. VR equipment must be checked out at the Checkout Desk. The equipment and room has a 2 hour time-limit. View the library's page about the VR Lab for more information. 

  1. Go to https://usu.libcal.com/.
  2. Select Innovative Technology Rooms from the list of Reservation Areas.
  3. Select your starting time from the available green time blocks for Room 113 – (VR).
  4. Use the drop down menu to select an ending time.
  5. Click Select Times and Continue.
  6. Verify the booking details and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue.
  7. Type in a name for your group or reservation to make it easier in case you need to look it up after you finish the booking.
  8. Click the Submit my Booking at the bottom of the screen to complete your reservation. 
  9. You will receive a confirmation email at the email address you entered.

Reserving the One-Button Recording Studio

  1. Go to https://usu.libcal.com/.
  2. Select Innovative Technology Rooms from the list of Reservation Areas.
  3. Select your starting time from the available green time blocks for Room 108 – (One Button).
  4. Use the drop down menu to select an ending time.
  5. Click Select Times and Continue.
  6. Verify the booking details and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue.
  7. Type in a name for your reservation to make it easier to find in case you need to look it up after you submit the booking.
  8. Click the Submit my Booking at the bottom of the screen to complete your reservation. 
  9. You will receive a confirmation email at the email address you entered. 

Reserving the Foyer Area

The Foyer can be reserved by USUSA clubs, classes, or departments. Reservations must be made at least three days in advance. One table (2ft x 6 ft) and two chairs will be set up for the day the foyer is reserved.

To Reserve the Library Foyer:

  1. Go to https://usu.libcal.com/.
  2. Select Foyer Table from the list of Reservation Areas.
  3. Select your starting time from the available green time blocks.
  4. Use the drop down menu to select an ending time.
  5. Click Select Times and Continue.
  6. Read the terms and conditions listed and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue.
  7. Verify the booking details and type an Event Name.
  8. You must also indicate whether food will be served, and if so, who the food provider is. 
  9. Click Submit my Booking.
  10. You will receive an automated email confirming your reservation request.
  11. You will receive a separate email to let you know if your reservation has been approved.

 

Looking to reserve the Disability Resource Center room? Contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC) and they will connect you to the appropriate resources. Equipment can be added to the room based on specific needs. 

Reserving Faculty/Staff and Community Spaces

Merill-Cazier Library has several spaces that can be reserved for meetings or other events USU faculty and staff and other campus or public groups. For a complete list and descriptions of reservable spaces for visit the Reservation Areas page.

To Reserve Room 101:

To Reserve Faculty Seminar Room 208:

  1. Go to https://usu.libcal.com/.
  2. Scroll down to Faculty and Staff Room Reservation Areas and select 208 Faculty Seminary Room.
  3. Click the available green time blocks to select your starting time.
  4. Use the drop down that appears to choose the ending time.
  5. Click Select Times and Continue.
  6. Verify the booking details and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue.
  7. Type in a name for your group or reservation to make it easier to find in case you need to look it up after you finish the booking.
  8. Click the Submit my Booking at the bottom of the screen to complete your reservation. 
  9. You will receive an automated email confirming your reservation request.
  10. You will receive a separate email to let you know if your reservation has been approved.

To Reserve Room 154:

Schedule Room 154 and other library classrooms through the EMS reservation system.

Library Instruction Classrooms 122, 155, and 204 are exclusively reserved for library instruction while working with a librarian. Please see Library Instruction Room Information for information on how to request these spaces. 

To Reserve Recording Studio Room 202F:

  1. Go to https://usu.libcal.com/.
  2. Scroll down to Faculty and Staff Room Reservation Areas and select 202F Recording Studio.
  3. Click the available green time blocks to select your starting time. Note: Reservations for the 202F studio are available 24 hours in advance. If you need to make a reservation with less than 24-hour notice, please contact the Library Help Desk via chat or phone for assistance.
  4. Use the drop down that appears to choose the ending time.
  5. Click Select Times and Continue.
  6. Verify the booking details and click Agree to the Terms and Conditions and Continue.
  7. Type in a name for your group or reservation to make it easier to find in case you need to look it up after you finish the booking.
  8. Click the Submit my Booking at the bottom of the screen to complete your reservation.
