What is a recall? How is it different from a hold?

A recall is a type of hold that requests an item be returned sooner than its original due date.

Items are only eligible for recall two weeks after they have been originally checked out and recalls can only be placed by staff at the Checkout Desk. A recall resets the due date of the item to one week from the day the recall is placed. Fines for late recall items are $1.00 per day.
